UVIchemi is a state of the art dedicated chemiluminescence imaging system, designed for users who demand the very highest sensitivity and performance. The superb scientific grade CCD camera, with REAL 12-bit dynamic range, mega-pixel resolution and exceptionally low noise means that the UVIchemi can detect samples when other high specification imaging systems cannot. Long exposures without loss of image quality are made possible by the unique two-tier cooling system that keeps background noise to a minimum. The top quality fixed focal length lens ensures razor sharp image resolution at all times. The UVIchemi darkroom cabinet has a sample tray with 6 vertical positions and is precision made with a special door locking mechanism to eliminate light leakage.

The UVIchemi system from UVItec has been developed exclusively for users who require a dedicated chemiluminescence documentation system. Unlike most systems that have been designed primarily for fluorescence documentation and adapted for chemiluminescence, the UVIchemi system has been created around the specific needs of chemiluminescence documentation and analysis.

While some of our competitors who claim to use TRUE "16 bit" output from cameras with inferior performance, we at UVItec prefer to use a the top of the range 12 bit camera with real 12-bit performance, meaning ultra low noise and exquisite sensitivity.

UVIchemi components:

The UVIchemi system consists of a light tight darkroom with a sample tray that has six different positions. Samples of up to a maximum size of 22cm by 18cm can be accommodated on the sample tray.

  • CCD chip cooled to -45°C below ambient
  • Fully enclosed camera housing  with its own unique  additional cooling system (improves camera efficiency in laboratories with high ambient temperatures)
  • Class leading high sensitivity, 12 bit digital camera with 3-stage peltier cooling
  • Overhead LED lighting for easy positioning of the sample
  • Image acquisition using UVIchemi software via FireWire interface
  • Optional digital thermal printer for superior quality prints
  • Optional UVIband analysis software allows for accurate quantification of samples and much more

UVIchemi Performance

 

 

The UVIchemi system provides users with exceptional high end performance using all major types of chemiluminescent substrates including ECL, ECL-PLUS, CSPD,  CDP & CDP-STAR. The high sensitivity CCD camera permits exposure times from 0.1 seconds up to 120 minutes.

 

The UVIchemi system outperforms its nearest competitors in two ways:

  1. The greater camera sensitivity results in greatly reduced exposure times
  2. The extremely low noise level enables very long exposure times when necessary without the loss of image quality
